About Whispering Sheoak

Whispering Sheoak is based on 135 acres of private land, in Springton, in the beautiful Adelaide Hills. Whispering Sheoak is a boutique venue that hosts intimate weddings & elopements with views of magnificent gum trees, rocky landscapes & rolling hills.

The team at Whispering Sheoak specialise in elopements and small weddings allowing a maximum of 30 people. Plan your dream wedding with our onsite Wedding Coordinator with many years experience in the wedding and event industry. Choose from our curated packages that include experienced and highly respected celebrants, photographers, videographers and musicians, as well as our list of other recommended suppliers.

Have exclusive access to the property from your ceremony to a lunchtime reception, with many on-site photography opportunities. We have alternative weather solutions available including private hire of local winery Eden Mae. Enjoy pre-wedding and wedding night accommodation at a gorgeous local BnB.

Whispering Sheoak is minutes away from the Adelaide Hills as well as the Eden Valley & Barossa Valley wine regions to continue the celebrations in the days to come.

Inspired by the spiritual and calming presence of the Sheoak trees, we aim to provide a sanctuary for events that bring people closer to nature and each other.

Meet The Owners

Falling in love with the gentle whispers of the sheoak trees, our family has embraced the beauty of nature and the rhythm of the land. We’ve deeply connected with the local community, forming bonds with families and businesses that make this area special.

With a degree in Event Management and over a decade of experience singing at weddings and events, Bernie understands the nuances of running a successful event.

Barry, Ali, and our spirited Red Heeler, Shea, spend their spare time exploring, learning, and nurturing the property.

Shae, with his lively energy, loves to chase after kangaroos, rabbits, and any other creatures that cross his path.

Our family, including our children Bernie and Liam, and their families, treasures time spent on the land—whether it’s gathering around the campfire, cooking wholesome meals, sipping local wine, or creating cherished memories.

You’ll be in good hands with Barry, Ali, or Bernie as your guides around the land. Liam, with his degree in ecology and environmental management, works passionately with landholders across Australia to restore and regenerate native vegetation.

Together, we are committed to actively managing our land to ensure its balance and resilience for the future.

  • Yes, we customise packages to suit your specific needs and preferences. Whether it's for a special event or celebration, we can tailor our offerings to ensure your experience is perfect. Contact us to discuss your requirements, and we'll create a personalised package just for you.

  • We do allow other suppliers and caterers. Whilst we have our recommended suppliers (who know Whispering Sheoak and are highly respected in the industry), we get that from time to time you may want to bring your own suppliers in!

  • Yes, you can bring your own alcohol. However, we require that all alcohol be served by individuals with a Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests.

  • We can accommodate a maximum of 30 guests. This limit helps us maintain an intimate and enjoyable atmosphere for all events and ensures that our facilities can comfortably serve everyone in attendance.

  • We offer on-the-day coordination and will liaise with you and your suppliers regarding access to the land, however it'll be up to you to arrange any other suppliers (other than those included in the package chosen). Once a supplier is booked that is included in the package, you'll deal directly with the supplier to sort out the finer details.
